Some couples really struggle to find a theme or a concept for their wedding. Like maybe they like their cats, so they have cat coasters for drinks and a few pictures of them with their cats, but they don’t want to like have everything be cats (or maybe they do). Or perhaps the couple is outdoorsy and likes beer, so they decorate with wood cookies and beer bottles. But no Sixpence couple has ever committed to a theme like Robin and Tom did.

You heard me right, mini golf. Not only do Robin and Tom spend their free time designing courses, they like to think they are mini golf pros. So much so that they snagged spots as contestants on the ABC show Holy Moley.

They even committed to having their ceremony at Big Stone Mini Golf in Minnetrista, taking a first putt after their first kiss, and injected a whole mess of mini golf themed wedding decor in the middle beginning and end of it all. Like their table centerpieces and seating chart, not to mention their zest for bright colors.

6 THINGS WE CAN LEARN

It’s not enough to have a vehicle to load at the end of the night, you’ll want a master list of all the decor that gets taken down and taken out
Without bartenders, preset drinks will get drunk whether they’re supposed to be saved for after the ceremony or not
Having a golf cart to transport decor on difficult terrain is a god send
Always have a rain back up plan, but be okay if you spend money on it and you don’t need it
I you want to get a photo with all of our guests then be adamant, plan wisely, and get a photo with all of your wedding guests
If your ceremony is short you don’t have to have seating for everyone
