I've recently begun a new venture, over on Perfect Wedding Guide's blog, a weekly blog series called: Getting Married in Minnesota. And before embarking on this editing adventure I knew I'd want to be equipped with a good brand for the series. Who else came to mind but Karissa of Stylemark Media (PS That is a brand spankin new website I linked you to, check it out!). Her company is all about taking your ideas and turning them into beautiful artwork. Whether it’s for your business, for a wedding, a birthday party or perhaps just something personal.

Print design (example: logos, business cards, flyers, brochures, invites, etc...) is her self-proclaimed forte but as I've witnessed, she's also quite good at designing graphics for the web (example: social media ads, cover photos, etc...), including web design itself.

With design, we strive for three things: Simplicity, Clarity & Consistency.

So how can Stylemark Media help a Bride & Groom?

"We do a lot of research before we jump into the design part of a project. It’s very important to us to get to know the client, their personality, likes, and dislikes to better tailor the design to match the client, business, or event. We’re a very small business so our prices are extremely competitive without sacrificing quality. There are two people who we serve best. One, an artistic person who wants something completely outside of the box. Two, a person who couldn’t be further from being "artsy", in a visual sense, and they have no idea what they want but they’re open minded. These two people allow a lot of creative freedom, on our end, and it results in some pretty amazing outcomes."

Karissa's favorite color scheme (& visual examples)?

"For this week? Haha! I swear I change my mind from week to week. How could you not? There are so many wonderful colors out there and it depends on my mood, what I’m working on, or the season. Right now, I’m loving the darker muted tones of any color paired with a pastel and or gold. When I say gold, I mean the real stuff, not an imitation yellow color. You can either add geometric lines/shapes for a modern look or add foliage to have more of a classic look. And with fall coming up I am looking most forward to all of the colors, duh! Fall! I hate to admit it, but I’m a victim of the pumpkin spiced flavored food and drink. Oh, I don’t want to forget about tator-tot hot dish and apple crisp. This is also the time of year that business really picks up, meaning I get to meet a lot of new people and design more things!

Experience tells me that Karissa was really easy to work with and delivered exactly what I wanted. I happen to be Karissa's third type of client: really creative but completely unable to use a computer to design something new and fresh. So thank you Karissa, and here's to you!
