It always seems as though planning a wedding with a couple, not currently residing in Minnesota, is going to be stressful, difficult, or ineffective, but the thing is… it isn’t.

I adore my out of state clients (like Marvin and Eloise - heart eyes emoji) and I relish in our video chat time. But I also appreciate that planning a wedding in a different state is actually a tad bit tricky.

I understand the woes of not being able to pop over to the venue, or go to your vendor meetings at your leisure. I planned my Washington (state) wedding from Minnesota and we (my husband and I) know all too well the experience of jamming in all the vendor meetings when your in town for the weekend.

Marisa and Joseph planned their nuptial celebration from the other Washington (D.C.) and I was all too happy to be a part of it.

Everybody loves a llama at a wedding
Two officiants is better than one
Moms will make your receiving line slower if you include them in the line up
The smaller the guest count the easier a whole wedding group photo is
Lawn games, fake tattoos and a blue grass band are all you need to keep guests entertained, although offering smores at the fire pit is an added bonus
Ice cream is ALWAYS a big hit, especially when served from a truck and in a cone.
